Ask us a question

Is duct cleaning worth it?

For some homes, yes. If dust blows out of the vents, there is a musty smell, you just moved in, you just remodeled, or you run a swamp cooler, cleaning removes what is in the ducts and you notice the difference. If your ducts are clean and your filter is fresh, it is not worth paying for. We tell you which one you are.

How often should ducts be cleaned in Tucson?

There is no fixed rule. The National Air Duct Cleaners Association suggests every 3 to 5 years. In Tucson, a swamp cooler, pets, a remodel or a dust storm that got inside move that sooner.

How long does it take?

Most homes typically take 2 to 4 hours for air ducts. A dryer vent is typically about an hour. Cooler ducts, under-slab ducts and two-system homes take longer. Ask us and you get a time estimate with the quote.

What does it cost?

It depends on the size of the home, the number of registers, the type of system and how easy the ducts are to reach. Call or send the form and we quote it before anyone comes out. See the duct cleaning cost page.

Do I need to be home?

Yes. Someone needs to let the tech in and show where the system, the registers and the attic or crawl space access are.

What do I need to do before you arrive?

Clear a path to the air handler and the registers. Move anything fragile off furniture near the vents. Put pets somewhere quiet. That is it.

Do you clean swamp cooler ducts?

Yes. Cooler ducts get damp dust and a musty smell, and they typically need cleaning more often than AC-only ducts. See swamp cooler duct cleaning.

Can you clean ducts that run under the slab?

Typically yes. Older Tucson homes with metal ducts under the floor take longer and need the right equipment. Tell us when you call. If a duct under the slab is holding water or is damaged, we tell you before doing any work.

Should I clean the ducts after a dust storm?

If dust got into the house or the attic, it is worth a look. Check the registers first. If they are coated, the ducts are too.

I have a cooler and an AC. Does that change anything?

Yes. Shared ducts get both damp cooler air and dry AC air, and the damper between the two matters. We clean the shared runs and check the damper.

Do you clean rooftop package units?

Typically yes. Tell us when you call so the tech plans for the roof.

Will duct cleaning improve my air quality?

It removes dust, debris and buildup from inside the system, and it helps with dust blowing out of vents and with musty smells. The EPA says duct cleaning has not been shown to prevent health problems, and we do not claim it does.

Will it fix my dust problem for good?

It removes what is already in the ducts. If new dust is getting in through leaky duct joints or gaps around the house, it comes back. The tech tells you if that is what is going on.

Will it lower my electric bill?

A clean coil and blower move air more easily, so the system runs less for the same cooling. We do not promise a number.

Do you treat mold?

We clean the ducts and can apply a sanitizing treatment to clean surfaces. We do not do remediation on walls or insulation, and we do not do air testing. See mold and duct sanitizing.

Do you repair ducts?

No. If the tech finds a disconnected, crushed or leaking duct, you hear about it and get pointed to an HVAC contractor.

How often should a dryer vent be cleaned?

Typically once a year for a family that runs the dryer most days. Sooner with a roof vent, a long attic run or pets. See dryer vent cleaning.

Is coil cleaning the same as duct cleaning?

No. Duct cleaning clears the ducts. Coil and HVAC cleaning clears the air handler: coil, blower and cabinet. Most people do both. See AC coil and HVAC cleaning.

What areas do you cover?

Tucson, Oro Valley, Marana, Catalina Foothills, Vail and Sahuarita. See service areas.

Do you do commercial buildings?

Yes. Offices, shops, restaurants (not the kitchen hood), clinics and rental units, typically after hours. See commercial duct cleaning.
