Dryer Vent Cleaning in Tucson, AZ

Lint packs into a dryer vent a little more with every load. We clear the full run, from the back of the dryer to the outside wall or the roof, so your clothes dry in one cycle and the lint stops building up where it can catch fire.

What’s included

What dryer vent cleaning includes

A dryer vent is the duct that carries hot, damp air from your dryer to the outside. Lint that gets past the lint trap settles in that duct. Over time it narrows the duct, traps heat, and turns a 40-minute load into a 90-minute one.

What we clean on a standard job:

  • The transition hoseThe flexible hose behind the dryer. This is where most of the lint sits and where crushed or kinked hoses cause the worst airflow.
  • The vent ductThe full run through the wall, floor, attic or ceiling to the outside. We clean it from end to end with rotating brushes and a vacuum, not just the first few feet.
  • The exterior hood or roof capThe flap or cover where the vent exits. Lint, bird nests and debris collect here and stop the flap from opening.
  • The dryer connectionWe reconnect the hose, check it for kinks, and run the dryer to confirm air is moving out the far end.
  • Airflow checkWe check that air is moving out the far end before we leave. Ask us about it when you book.

Not part of this service: the inside of the dryer, the lint trap housing, and any duct repair or rerouting. If the duct is crushed, disconnected or made of the wrong material, we tell you and quote the fix separately.

How it works

How a dryer vent cleaning goes

Three steps, and you know the price before any work starts.

  1. Call or send the formTell us where the dryer is, where the vent comes out (wall, roof, or you are not sure) and how long a load takes to dry. You get a quote before anyone comes out.
  2. Clean the full runThe dryer is pulled out, the hose is disconnected, and the duct is cleaned with rotating brushes and a vacuum from both ends. The exterior cap is cleared too.
  3. Reconnect and testThe hose goes back on, the dryer is pushed back, and we run it to confirm air is moving out the far end. Most jobs typically take about an hour. Ask us and you get a time estimate with the quote.

Why Tucson is different

Why dryer vents in Tucson clog faster

  • Roof ventsMany Tucson homes, especially single-story block and stucco houses, vent the dryer through the roof instead of a side wall. A roof vent means a longer, often vertical run with more bends, and lint has to be pushed uphill. These clog faster and take more work to clear.
  • Long runs through the atticLaundry rooms in the middle of the house mean the vent travels through the attic to reach the outside. Longer run, more lint.
  • Desert dust and debrisDust gets into the exterior hood and mixes with lint. After a monsoon storm, we often find the hood packed with dust and the flap stuck.
  • Birds and insectsA warm, dry vent with a broken flap is a nesting spot. We clear nests and tell you if the cap needs replacing.
  • HeatTucson attics get very hot in summer. A clogged vent in a hot attic holds heat even longer. That is the condition that leads to dryer fires.

The U.S. Fire Administration says failure to clean was the leading factor in home clothes dryer fires from 2018 to 2020. A clear vent is the cheapest fix there is.

Check your dryer

Signs your dryer vent needs cleaning

  • Clothes take more than one cycle to dry
  • The top of the dryer or the laundry room feels hot while the dryer runs
  • A burning smell when the dryer is on
  • Lint around the dryer, behind it, or on the outside vent hood
  • The outside flap does not open when the dryer is running
  • The dryer shuts off mid-cycle, which some models do when the vent is blocked
  • It has been more than a year, or you cannot remember the last cleaning

If your clothes dry in one cycle and the outside flap opens freely, your vent is probably fine. Call and ask if you are not sure.

How often and how much

How often should a dryer vent be cleaned?

Once a year is the typical advice for a family that runs the dryer most days. Sooner if you have a roof vent, a long attic run, pets, or you dry a lot of towels and bedding. A rental or a home you just bought is worth doing right away, since you do not know when it was last done. Ask us if you are not sure.

What dryer vent cleaning costs in Tucson

The price depends on where the vent exits (roof vents take longer), how long the run is, and whether there is a nest or a blockage to remove. Call or send the form and tell us where the vent comes out, and we will give you a quote. More on the duct cleaning cost page.

FAQ

Dryer vent cleaning questions

Short, honest answers before you book.

Ask us a question

How long does dryer vent cleaning take?

Most homes typically take about an hour. Roof vents, long attic runs, and nests take longer. Ask us and you get a time estimate with the quote.

Can you clean a dryer vent that goes through the roof?

Yes. Roof vents are common in Tucson and we clean them from both ends. Tell us when you call so the tech brings the ladder and the right brushes.

Do you clean the dryer itself?

No. We clean the vent from the back of the dryer to the outside. Cleaning inside the dryer is an appliance repair job.

My dryer still takes two cycles after a cleaning. Why?

Usually one of three things: the duct is crushed or kinked behind the dryer, the run is too long for the dryer to push air through, or the dryer’s own blower or heating element has a problem. The tech checks the first two during the visit and tells you what they find.

Is a plastic or foil dryer hose a problem?

The thin white plastic and foil hoses trap lint and can sag. Rigid or semi-rigid metal duct is the safer choice. If your hose is plastic or foil, we tell you and can quote a replacement.

Do you clean dryer vents in apartments and rentals?

Typically yes, with the owner’s or manager’s approval. Ask us about booking several units at once.

Can I combine this with air duct cleaning?

Yes. Most people book both on the same visit. Say so when you call and we quote them together. See air duct cleaning.
